The Latin term Eustoma is named after the Greek words eu, good, and stoma, mouth. Lisianthus on the other hand, comes from the Greek words lissos, meaning smooth, and anthos, which means flower. Lisianthus flowers make people ooh and ahh... It's such an elegant flower you would never guess it's native to American prairies.
It is a herbaceous annual with bluish-green, slightly succulent leaves and large funnel-shaped flowers growing on straight branching stems.
